Security Credits support teams to scale safely

Security Credits (SecCreds) provide up to $25,000 for projects to complete audits with partners like MoveBit, Hacken, Ottersec, and Zellic.

Designed for teams preparing to launch or upgrading to the latest Aptos standards, SecCreds help protect users, strengthen trust, and ensure projects scale securely.

Who Should Apply SecCreds are designed for teams preparing to scale securely with a formal audit. Eligible projects should meet the following criteria:

Stage
Teams must be testnet with mainnet launch planned within 30 days, or already be live on mainnet.
Focus
Projects requiring audits for new features, Aptos protocol upgrades, or DeFi apps with assets at risk
Limit
One security credit of up to $25,000 is available per team. DeFi projects may qualify for tiered support.
Compliance
Teams must have completed identity verification within the past 6 months. DeFi projects must also provide a prior audit report and multisig treasury setup.

FAQs

Who can apply?

We welcome applications from small teams, enterprises, academic and research groups, and non-profit organizations.

Projects involving illicit trade, money laundering, pornography, or illegal activity are not eligible. “Restricted persons” as defined by our Terms of Use are also ineligible.

How much funding is available?

Up to $25,000 USD per team.

Which audit providers are approved?

Approved partners currently include MoveBit, Hacken, Ottersec, and Zellic. Additional providers are being evaluated.

Are there special requirements or support for DeFi projects?

Yes. DeFi projects must provide a prior audit report, have a multisig treasury setup, and complete identity verification within the past 6 months. They may also qualify for tiered funding beyond the standard $25,000.

Do I need to be part of another grant to apply?

No. SecCreds can be awarded as part of an existing grant milestone or as a standalone application.

How are credits distributed?

Teams contract directly with audit providers. Credits are reimbursed once the audit is complete and final deliverables are submitted.

What if my project isn’t ready?

SecCreds are intended for MVP+ teams preparing to launch or update their projects. Early-stage teams should consider Builder Programs like hackathons or Aptos Assembly to gain traction before applying.
