Decibel Builder Codes: Opening Up the Onchain Trading Engine

Most onchain trading protocols keep everything locked down. One team, one frontend, one liquidity pool. Decibel's going a different direction — cracking the engine open and letting anyone plug in, build on top, and get paid for the bona fide trading activity they bring. That's the whole idea behind Decibel’s Builder Codes.

How They Work

Any developer can connect to Decibel's backend, submit orders through the API, and tag each transaction with their unique code. Every order that executes under that code gets tracked, and a portion of the associated trading fees is attributed to the builder.

No application. No partnership negotiation. You build something — a frontend, a bot, an analytics tool, a copy-trading app — attach your code, and a share of fees from the activity you drive flows back to you.

Everything runs through the Decibel Liquidity Provider Vault (DLP), a shared liquidity pool handling market-making and liquidations across spot and perpetual markets. Builders don't need to bootstrap their own liquidity. It's already there. They just need to build something people want to use.

On the execution side, Decibel covers the full range: market, limit, stop-market, stop-limit, TWAP, and bulk orders for market makers running more complex strategies.

Who's Already In

Seven teams have been live on testnet, each using Builder Codes to route order flow and build new products on top of the engine:

  • Moar — Onchain credit layer making capital more flexible across DeFi.

  • Panora — DEX aggregator with swaps, routing, and advanced order types.

  • Tapp — Modular Perp DEX where builders control how trades and liquidity get routed.

  • Copin — Social trading platform for finding and copying top traders.

  • PulseTrader — Algorithmic trading with automated signals and smart execution across futures.

  • RNDM — Agentic yield vaults running delta-neutral strategies.

  • Samosa — Social-Fi trading suite with a Telegram bot and desktop terminal.

Why Aptos

For perpetuals trading, execution matters. Decibel's sub-second finality means liquidations and order matching happen at speeds fast enough for serious traders. And Move's resource model was designed around asset safety — which is top of mind when you're dealing with leverage and shared liquidity.

For builders, the cost of experimenting is basically zero. The infrastructure can handle institutional-grade products from day one.

What's Next

Pre-deposits are live. Early participants can lock in day-one mainnet access and when mainnet launches, the full Builder Codes ecosystem goes live — DLP, referral systems, trading competitions, all of it.

The setup is simple: Decibel handles the engine, the liquidity, and settlement. Builders compete on the stuff that actually matters — better interfaces, smarter strategies, new ways to trade. Same infrastructure underneath, but the products on top are where things get interesting.

Builder Codes turn Decibel into a platform, not just a protocol. Shared liquidity, permissionless access, and direct fee sharing for anyone driving real usage. Seven teams are already in. Mainnet is next.
