India: Where Web3 Ambition Meets Real-World Scale
India Blockchain Week 2025 served as a powerful reminder: India isn’t waiting for the future of Web3, the nation is actively shaping it.
This annual gathering underscored India’s position as a pivotal market defined by ambition, technical depth, and an instinct for solving real problems at a global scale. As one of the fastest-growing and most innovative corners of the Aptos community, India is where some of the network's most critical projects are being built.
Jio: Bringing Web3 to 500M users
Reliance Jio, India's largest telecommunications company and the world's third-largest mobile network operator, is exploring how blockchain can support everyday digital experiences at India scale. The focus is on simple, meaningful utility—such as integrating blockchain-based rewards and ad analytics into the services users already rely on. With its high performance and low costs, Aptos provides the ideal environment to test and refine a truly consumer-ready blockchain layer.
These efforts are helping shape a broader understanding of where decentralized technologies may fit into the future of digital services in India. As Jio examines possibilities across AdTech, MarTech, Media, IoT and autonomous AI-driven applications, the shared goal is to identify how secure, scalable infrastructure can open up new forms of value for millions of users. The emphasis is less on introducing new features and more on discovering which kinds of digital experiences truly matter at population scale.
KGeN: The World’s Largest Verified Distribution Protocol
Among the most persistent challenges in Web3 is proving the presence of real, engaged users. Enter KGeN, which empowers users to own their digital identities and reputation while enabling a more transparent and verifiable ecosystem for businesses to grow, entirely built on Aptos.
At the heart of KGeN is its VeriFi Network: a privacy-preserving identity and reputation framework that verifies real users and captures their engagement on-chain. To date, KGeN reports more than 876 million data points processed, enabling services such as biometric-based onboarding, programmable loyalty rewards and decentralized storefronts through its K-Store. With 38.9 million registered users and nearly 800,000 daily actives, KGeN has become one of the most widely adopted protocols in Web3—fresh off their TGE earlier this quarter.
STAN: The New Social Layer for Gaming
While KGeN solves for data, STAN is redefining community. Since launch, STAN has reached 30M users, onboarded 1.2M creators, raised a $10.5M Series A, generated $10M in total creator earnings, and logged 250M minutes of content watched. The result: a hyper-engaged "social layer" for gaming that blends voice communities, digital collectibles, and creator monetization. It is a prime example of how Web3 elements can be invisibly woven into a mass-market consumer product to drive user retention (and true fanaticism). Building on Aptos gives STAN the scalable, secure, and cost-efficient infrastructure needed to support that momentum.
Santa Browser: Returning Value to Everyday Internet Users
Santa Browser is rethinking how users access the internet. By securing strategic pre-installation partnerships with major Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), the browser is positioning itself as a primary gateway for millions of mobile-first users globally.
Beyond standard browsing, Santa features a "Browse-to-Earn" engine. Unlike legacy browsers that harvest user data for free, Santa allows users to opt-in to a "Zero-Party Data" model, earning rewards for their engagement. Leveraging Aptos’ sub-second latency and negligible gas fees, the browser creates a seamless value loop: distributing real value to everyday users without the technical friction typically associated with Web3.
Modernizing Public Services & Governance
The Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce launched an Aptos-based “skill wallet” pilot involving more than 20,000 students to verify their completed coursework. Aptos technology is also supporting a rural employment initiative that serves 80 million workers across India. By anchoring credentials and wage records on-chain, these programs verify talent instantly and ensure transparent, timely payments for one of India's largest social safety nets.
From First Steps to Global Scale
The Aptos Foundation has continued to invest deeply in India’s builder journey—with US$15 million committed this year—cultivating a long-term talent pipeline that spans from curiosity to global scale. Through more than 20 bootcamps and five hackathons, over 4,500 developers and thousands of students have gained hands-on experience with Move, contributing over 1,000 open-source commits to the network—a testament to the depth of local engagement.
Programs like WinterSchool with IIT Delhi help turn that early interest into working prototypes, while the Aptos x Hashed Emergent Accelerator and dedicated funding support advanced founders ready to take their products to the global market.
India isn’t just one of Aptos’ fastest-growing ecosystems. It’s becoming the proving ground of what’s possible when the Global Trading Engine meets the talent ready to deliver it.
